Attendees will learn how yard waste is transformed into nutrient-rich compost through Metro Waste Authority’s composting process. This activity includes interactive visuals, hands-on examples of finished compost, and educational information about how compost improves soil health and supports sustainable gardening practices. Participants will also learn what materials can and cannot be composted and how using compost can reduce waste sent to the landfill.

Social media and online gaming open exciting worlds for kids, but they also introduce risks that families need to navigate with care. This workshop explores how apps and games create mechanisms to keep youth engaged—sometimes at the expense of youth mental health. This overview also addresses the serious risks of cyber-bullying and online grooming. This event is for ages 18+ and located in the Hideaway.
